Thomas Ammann Fine Art AG was founded by the late Thomas Ammann and his late sister Doris in 1977. Georg Frei, art historian, joined the gallery in 1988 and has been a partner since 2013. For over 43 years, Thomas Ammann Fine Art AG has sold outstanding paintings, drawings, and sculptures to major international private collections and museums.

Highlights were the sale of Vincent van Gogh’s Portrait of Joseph Roulin (1889) to the Museum of Modern Art, New York in 1989, and Willem de Kooning’s Woman III (1953) to a prominent US private collection in 1994.
